DEFT Engine Features
The DEFT Engine can read any type of data, whether plain text, binary,
encrypted or compressed, as long as the required data format module is
available. The basic modules support plain text, XML, binary, ZIP/GZIP
compression, OLE Structured Storage, PDF and other widely used formats.
The DEFT Engine can be used either as a server that transforms data from
one format to another, or as a plugin generator for your own software.
The DEFT Engine takes your definition of the data and uses that as the
instructions on how to translate the input to the output. And if you
need this kind of functionality, for example, as an import/export filter
in your software, you can instruct the DEFT Engine to create a plugin
module which you can embed in your software. The plugin does not need
the DEFT Engine to run.
The DEFT Engine is truly Any2Any engine that can be used
for any data transformation needed. The DEFT Engine supports XSLT for
XML-transformations and user defined transformations.
The DEFT Engine will be available in Q3/2004 and earlier for a selected
